360 Product Specifications

Wow! we started the Specs page almost 4 years ago! Now that it is 2024, we better update a few things. Take a look at the changes for Amazon, we don’t think that was a good idea, hope they change their mind. We have also added a few more specs and a few additional pages to better highlight some retailers.

Today I am going to walk through 360 product photography specifications for some of the more prominent retailer storefronts out there. And keep in mind, these details and specs will evolve over time as we learn about new changes from the different online storefronts. We are working to keep a running list of those sites that allow their manufacturers and retailers to add or include 360 product photography for customers.

Over the last 20-plus years we have watched the 360 photography industry change. We’ve seen the adoption of this technology increase through the years, and we’ve also seen customer demand continue to grow, as well. In this article, we are also going to try to provide the current minimum standards needed to showcase your products as 360s on each of these platforms.

Keep in mind that 360 photography can come in many different forms: interactive views, animated gifs, and even video files are all examples of implementations used by different retailers.

Currently we have the following sites that we know and work with and that have , who have the options for you as a manufacturer or retailer to provide 360 views. Please keep in mind that these are in no specific order and this list are retailers that have 360 Product Photography Specifications.

As of January of 2024, Amazon is no longer accepting 360 product photography for their 360 views. Instead, they are offering a half baked idea that 3d models will work for everything. I personally love the idea of 3d models for some products, but everyday, we hear from customers, and prospective customers, that 3d models do not suit their products! For now, you can only us 3d models up at Amazon…

OR

I guess, you could use the art that every other retailer is using and make a simple video of the rotation, add a little text and audio to the movie and give the customer what they want! Ask us about this option!

For now, I will just grey the previous information out and hope that it is a pending issue, and not a sign of the future.

In late 2018 Amazon started including the first wave of Amazon 360 Product Photography on segments of their product pages. Since then they have been opening up the availability in additional verticals throughout their online storefront.
